Women Blues Singers of the 1920s. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Moanin' the Blues. Victoria Spivey. If you enjoy 1920s Jazz or Blues, this is for you, particularly if you enjoy lady singers of that era. A great conception for an album, this one has 2 country stars and 2 city stars, so you can compare styles. Quality is surprisingly good, not thin or fuzzy very well restored. A few of these songs are tremendous and some just pretty good. Of course for Bessie Tucker you need, and I mean need, to hear the title track Better Boot That Thing and then you will agree that you best stay home and take care of business. As for Ida May I flipped when I heard her saga of a fallen woman as she moans out on Elm Street Blues and her lament on Wrong Doin' Daddy. Fort Worth And Denver Blues by Bessie Tucker. African-American women were not only jazz singers, but also instrumentalists. The piano was one of the first instruments that women played in jazz music, and this ability granted women a great degree of acceptance in the industry. The 1920s blues, known as the classic blues, was a genre largely popularized by African-American women. Singers such as Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter, and Ethel Waters were the most popular, each bringing something new and unique to the stage of American music. Ma Rainey, referred to as the Mother of the Blues, became popular in the early 1900s. The album had feminist themes that attracted a wide audience
